However, eggplant also grows very slowly in cool weather, so it is best to wait until temperatures are over 70 degrees every day to put eggplant outside. Eggplant has a long growing season, so there is a benefit to starting seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before planting outdoors. Transplants will start bearing fruit in 2-3 months.

This will bring back humidity tomorrow through the rest of the week. It will stay sunny and warm with highs in the 80 tomorrow and Thursday. A cold front will approach the Carolinas on Friday.

It will stay warm with high temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Another cold front will move through the Carolinas Saturday night with a round of thunderstorms late in the day.

There is no rush to get peppers into the garden, and they can wait until May or even June. Peppers can handle our summertime heat and actually grow faster with warmer weather. Just like other warm season veggies, we need to wait until after all danger of frost has passed to put peppers into the garden. It is also a benefit to start peppers from seed inside in the early spring and put in the garden as transplants.

This front will likely move through dry, but it will be windy and with low humidity there will be a wildfire danger tomorrow. It will be warm again with highs in the 70s. Cooler weather will move in tomorrow night and temperatures will be back in the 60s and 70s Wednesday and Thursday.

Cooler weather will continue through the weekend. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers. A cold front will move through, dropping temperatures into the 40s. Drier weather will move in tomorrow with a mix of clouds and sunshine and highs in the 60s. High pressure will bring more sunshine on Sunday, and it will be a little warmer with highs in the 60s and low 70s. Much warmer weather will build in for Monday and Tuesday with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.

That is why it is just as important to clean up pet waste at home. Clemson Extension water resources agent Catherine Watts says “pet waste contains bacteria and nutrients. The bacteria is more of a public health concern. Dog waste contains, it is estimated, about fifty percent more bacteria than human waste.
