Dear Editor,It has become quite clear that the Trump administration is incompetent and corrupt. Many important services to and for taxpayers are not being delivered. Others are on the chopping block. Donald Trump and family are making big, big money with various pay-to-play schemes. Elon Musk is also profiting personally from his work with DOGE. And then of course Trump – ignoring the rule of law – is leading the country down the path of authoritarianism. We the people need to act.

Sometimes little things can make a big difference. A good example is a food cooler purchased by Athens Food Rescue and given to Heritage Community Clinic Food Pantry. Every month the pantry does a food handout, and it needed a cooler for that distribution. Thanks to funds provided by QuidelOrtho of Athens, AFR made that happen. “This is some of the remaining amount of the funds provided by QuidelOrtho that were provided to us in 2024,” explained AFR Executive Director Nanda Filkin.
