Leicestershire angler Lee Snow’s fine spring bream campaign went up another notch last week when he landed this superb specimen scaling 19lb 1oz. It follows hot on the heels of his capture of a 17lb 3oz fish, while his 15-year-old son Alfie also got in on the action with an 18lb 11oz bream few weeks ago. Lee is targeting arock-hard 90-acre pit, where the fish have proved hard to locate.

Former Drennan Cup winner Richard Wilby has just landed what he reckons is the best fish he’s ever caught – this sublime 3lb 11oz roach. Fishing at a Midlands stillwater, Norfolk-based Richard presented a grain of corn beneath a light waggler at close range to tempt the fish. Knowing how shy big roach can be, he used fine tackle, with a size 18 hook and 2lb hooklink on the end of his 3lb mainline.

On a trip to a large southern pit, Leicester angler Lee Snow landed the fifth different bream of his specimen angling career over the 17lb mark when he slipped this huge fish scaling 17lb 3oz into the net. He was targeting the side of a gravel bar around 90 yards out from the bank, where he found a silty area in 15ft of water. Bait-wise, he didn’t introduce much loosefeed, scattering just a few handfuls of hemp, corn,pellets and casters over the spot.

In the past, Matt had done the majority of the fishing, with Freddie simply happy to join him on the bank.
