    Seven-year-old Anagha of Byrigadde village studies in class 2 at the Government Primary School, Kundur, about three kilometres from her place deep in the Saragodu Reserve Forest of Mudigere taluk in Chikkamagaluru district. Every day, her father, Narayana, drops her off and picks her up from school.     Sheshe Gowda, 65, elder brother of Mundagrau Latha, a Maoist who surrendered on Wednesday to join the mainstream, said he had not seen his sister in the last 15 years. “I am happy that she is coming back. We will take care of her if the government releases her,” he said. “She did not come home regularly when she joined a training in tailoring at Jayapura in Koppa taluk. We heard that she had joined the arms struggle. When I enquired where she had been, she insisted that I should not worry about her.

    “We haven’t seen her for the last 15 years. I am happy, she has come back,” said Sheshe Gowda, 65, elder brother of Mundagaru Lata, a Naxal who returned to the mainstream. Lata joined the Maoist movement 24 years ago. She has studied up to class 5. Later, she joined tailoring training at Jayapura. “During the training programme, she did not come home regularly. We were told that she had joined the armed movement. However, we had no information about this,“ he said. She rarely met her family members.
