    Boston is home to some of the most iconic professional sports teams and is known for its rowdy fans. Some would say to fulfill the  Boston experience, the requirement is to attend a game in TD Garden or eat a Fenway Frank.     An email appeared in my inbox almost seven years ago from Rich Zahradnik. He described the sad demise of the News of Pelham and asked, “What should we do next?” This question was not a simple one to answer, but many students were thinking the same thing: Start a newspaper run by us, the students who had just lost the only remaining print newspaper serving the Pelham community. As a sixth grader, I had no clue about the can of worms I would open or the true impact of what lay ahead.

    Barbara Klein has watched hundreds of children and families walk through the doors of Huguenot Nursery School. She has touched many hearts and held out hands for the past 32 years. As the original director of Huguenot Nursery School, she worked to build the school from two classes with nine staff members to 13 classrooms and 28 on staff. After over 50 years of teaching, Klein will finish this school year and retire from full-time teaching.

    Democratic candidate calls on governor to intervene over irregularities Incumbent Republicans Breda Bennett and Maurice Owen-Michaane won reelection to the Village of Pelham Manor Board of Trustees, defeating Democratic challengers Kate Pringle and Mark Cardwell. Announcement of the results followed a delay from Tuesday night in certifying the vote because of problems counting absentee and early mail ballots.

    After votes couldn’t be counted in the race for four Village of Pelham Manor trustee seats, Village Manager Lindsey Luft has to  contact the Westchester Board of Elections on Wednesday to discuss tallying the results. Elections results were unavailable Tuesday night because ballots were getting jammed in a voting machine, according to our reporter at the polling place, the Pelham Manor Firehouse.
