PMHS ice hockey coach Michael Cambria announced his resignation in an email to Pelham’s hockey community Wednesday night. “It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make,” Cambria said. “I’ve decided to take on a new challenge of leading the hockey program at Iona Prep, and a few factors led to my decision, but most importantly, it’s my alma mater and was a large part of my playing career.

The PMHS ice hockey and the girls basketball teams both made progress in the sectional tournaments during the winter break for the schools. Hockey had a bye in the quarterfinal round after receiving the number one ranking. In the Division II semifinals, the Pelicans beat Rye 3-1 on Thursday, their third win over their rivals this season. Senior Griffin Evans had 2 goals, and junior Owen Duffy added another. Freshman goalie Luke Fear had 21 saves. “It’s great,” said Pelham Head Coach Mike Cambria.
