(DC News Now) — Neighbors in Stafford County were met with a busy evening on Tuesday after reckless drivers collided into an electric pole, causing a power outage and a standoff with deputies. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) was called to the 1500 block of Courthouse Road at around 6:25 p.m. Dispatchers had received numerous reports about a Mustang crashing into an electric pole, knocking it over.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A man was arrested and charged on Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a child repeatedly in the Woodbridge area, officials announced Wednesday. The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said detectives were investigating a sexual assault that happened at a home in Triangle multiple times between November 2024 and March 2025.

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Howard County Police Department (HCPD) is investigating after a man was shot multiple times near his home Tuesday night. Just before 9:15 p.m., HCPD responded to the 7400 block of Wild Honey Way after receiving reports about gunfire. Detectives said a man entered his home in the area after being shot multiple times by at least two suspects. They approached the man from outside his house.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A multi-car collision left a few people hurt and caused a power line to fall in Bethesda on Tuesday evening. The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said in a post shortly after 6 p.m. that Bradley Lane at Maple Avenue was shut down due to a four-car collision. Pete Piringer, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS), said one vehicle struck and damaged a utility pole.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A man was ordered to spend multiple decades in prison for raping a teenager in Aspen Hill last year, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday. Charles Erby, 47, was convicted in March on two-counts of second-degree rape for the attack that happened just over a year ago on April 10, 2024.
