Etihad Airways is getting ready to announce ten new destinations this Monday the 25th, and they’ve been building up the suspense with little hints. They want you to guess where they might be. The fun thing about this is even the people I know at the airline have no idea what the new cities are. Etihad has been busy the last couple of years adding aircraft, reactivating A380s, installing new cabins and adding cities to the route map.

When you get invited to fly a round-the-world trip in business class it’s difficult to say no. And that’s why I’m about to set off on a oneworld explorer ticket in order to document the trip and help celebrate oneworld airlines (and their destinations) too. Why celebrate? The oneworld alliance is marking its 25th anniversary this year. Plus when you’re flying, that’s always reason to celebrate, right? So what’s the plan for this round-the-world?

We’re just in time to witness a key step in the conversion of a 767 from a passenger aircraft into a freighter: the cutting of a large piece out of a 767 fuselage where its cargo door will eventually be fitted.

In this video we visit the second MRO in the AviaPrime group: Adria Tehnika in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This facility specializes in the CRJ and A320 family aircraft so we get up close and personal with a handle of these going through heavy maintenance checks. From deep inside the belly looking at the wiring behind the computers to looking at the critical structures that make up the cockpit window frames, there’s a lot of detail to enjoy here.
