Before its highly successful 2005 revival, Doctor Who already had a long list of iconic stories and characters expanding a little over 25 years. The original BBC series became a staple of British television, charming millions of viewers before its cancellation in the late 1980s. The cancelation is no indication of its overall quality, though, as many of the plots still hold up well today.
