SELIGMAN, Ariz. — A Seligman family got a happy ending to a terrifying 16-hour search for their toddler after he wandered away from home Monday night. Officials said the two-year-old boy was found by a dog about seven miles away on a ranch near Kingman on Tuesday morning. “There was a thousand ways for that to go really, really bad and one good way and luckily it turned out to be the good way," Scotty Dunton of Dunton Ranch said.

Officer Michael Bonasera, a forensic sketch artist for Goodyear Police Department, said he started playing around with the new technology out of curiosity but was amazed by the results. “The first one, it made my jaw drop," Bonasera said.

GILBERT, Ariz. — A Valley couple is warning others to secure their cars after an apparent pattern of break-ins in their neighborhood. Charles and Allison Smith said their 2013 Hyundai Elantra was stolen from their driveway near Higley Road and Loop 202 overnight. “It’s almost like it’s not just a coincidence. You know they have a plan to do this. It’s really terrifying,” Allison Smith said. The Smiths reported the incident to Gilbert police, who confirmed to 12News they’re investigating the case.

PHOENIX — Mental wellness is a challenge for many seniors facing homelessness, but a new in-take screening test is preventing those seniors from slipping through the cracks. “Society works really hard to make homelessness invisible," Dr. Heather Ross, an assistant professor at Arizona State University said. The out of sight, out of mind mentality surrounding homelessness is something Ross is trying to reverse, and the mind is her starting point.
