PHOENIX — A south Phoenix neighborhood is saying goodbye to one of the oldest elementary schools in the Valley. C.J. Jorgensen first opened in 1957, and the class of 2025 will be its last as the Roosevelt School District voted to close it and four other elementary schools at the end of the year. “We have been here in the community for over 60 years, and so, our students that go here now, their parents went here, their aunts, their uncles, their cousins went here," Principal LaToya Turner said.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The deaths of three young men are being felt across the Valley as two families hosted separate vigils Tuesday night. Glendale Police said three men were killed in a shooting outside of a Cinco de Mayo celebration in downtown Glendale. The men were identified as 21-year-old Milo Christopher Suniga, and brothers 17-year-old Damien Anthony Sproule, 21-year-old Christopher Juaquin Sproule.
