PHOENIX — Four murders in eight days. It happened to inmates at two separate prisons run by the state and now an Arizona senator is launching an investigation into how it happened. On Monday, Republican Senator Kevin Payne, who is also the chairman of the Senate Public Safety Committee, announced a probe into the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry because of the deaths.

PHOENIX — Lori Vallow Daybell's fate is in the hands of an Arizona jury. The "Doomsday Mom" is on trial in Maricopa County for conspiring to kill her former husband, Charles Vallow. She is representing herself. Both sides finished closing arguments Monday afternoon and the case went to the jury soon after. Then, they told the judge they wanted to go home and continue in the morning. Deliberations are expected to resume at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

PHOENIX — A devastating fire has completely destroyed a mobile home in south Phoenix, leaving the family of five who lived there left with nearly nothing. The Barron Family was enjoying the afternoon in their living room on Sunday when a couple they did not know came banging on their front door. Frightened by the noise, the family was confused. Then, that couple started yelling. “Somebody was yelling, 'Fire! Fire!'" said Ashley Barron.
