On June 13, 2023, the Lefors Memorial Heights Cemetery lost its veterans flagpole due to a severe storm that swept through the area. Donnie Winegert, the Lefors ISD welding teacher and a few students built a beautiful flagpole as a replacement. The Lefors citizens and cemetery committee would like to give a special thanks to them for their work. Thank you to the Lefors city employees, county employees, Mayor Michael Ray and committee member Billy McBee as well as the school students.
