DeKALB – Members of the DeKalb High School’s Black Box Quartet will perform in May with a nationally touring Billy Joel tribute band, the Bill Nation Show, at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb, according to a news release. The concert, set for 8 p.m. May 11 and the theater, 135 N. Second St., will include Billy Joel classics from the 1970s through the 1990s. Tickets are $35 to $65, plus fees, and may be bought by phone at 815-758-1225, at the box office, or online at egyptiantheatre.org.

A Downers Grove man who filed a Naperville police report alleging hand tools had been stolen out of his vehicle has been charged with felony theft, insurance fraud, forgery and filing a false police report. Robert J. Sladek, 45, of the 7300 block of Baybury Road, was indicted on March 14. He turned himself in on March 19, according to a news release from Naperville police. He is free pretrial.

Lemont — A CITGO employee from the company’s Lemont refinery has been honored with two separate awards after he saved a man from a burning vehicle earlier this year. Jared Read, who works as a Maintenance Journeyman at CITGO Lemont Refinery, was working a night shift on Jan. 19 during cold weather coverage when he saw a van drive off the road shortly after 1 a.m. and get stranded on the railroad tracks, according to a news release from CITGO.

A Carol Stream man has been accused of stabbing his wife to death, in front of one of their children. Baltazar Perez-Estrada, 32, of the 600 block of Gundersen Drive, was arrested Monday after he came to the Carol Stream Police Department, according to DuPage County Circuit Court records. A hearing on whether he should be detained pretrial will continue Thursday morning. Perez-Estrada faces five counts of first-degree murder.
