CASPER, Wyo. — An important archeological site in the Powder River Basin of northeast Wyoming, which has documented in stone over 1,000 years of history, has just been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office announced that the Daly Petroglyphs, which depict stone carvings dating between 1,500 years ago to the mid 1800s, is the newest official entry to the registry as of May 19.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A much cooler string of days has arrived in Cheyenne following an evening of thunderstorms last night. For the next few days, Cheyenne residents should expect cooler temps and even more rainfall. Today will see a high of just 53 degrees. The day will be mostly cloudy and will experience showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. this afternoon. Winds will come in 10-15 mph from the southeast. More showers will be possible, though less so, tonight in Cheyenne.

SHERIDAN, Wyo. — A 69-year-old Australian woman was killed by a Ram 1500 pickup truck while crossing between Main Street and 5th Street in Sheridan Wednesday. Julie Fitzsimmons was reportedly crossing the road at 12:17 p.m. on May 28 in downtown Sheridan when the truck struck her. Road conditions were reportedly completely fine and there was no weather affecting visibility. The Wyoming Highway Patrol, in the WYDOT report announcing the fatality, did not list an explanation for the incident.

CASPER, Wyo. — Today will be extremely warm, slightly windy and overall extremely pleasant in Casper today. There is a slight chance of showers in the late afternoon. That would most likely arrive after 5 p.m. and would bring with it thunderstorms. Currently, the National Weather Service station in Riverton is forecasting a 20% chance of rain. Otherwise, it will be a very sunny day, with a high near 89 degrees. Winds will come in 10-15 mph, but could gust up to 23 mph.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The final graduating class of 2025 in Cheyenne went out with a bang. The Bison Herd knows how to make a big appearance but also, like the humble bison, the importance of being together as one. And so it was fitting that the final speech heard at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Arena was done in tandem. Seniors Hannah Fisher and Aidan Cabrera took the stage together one last time with one objective: deciding which is more important, the journey or the destination.
