A top Ohio State defensive tackle transfer target is off the board. Former Syracuse defensive tackle Maraad Watson, a Freshman All-American last season, signed with Texas on Tuesday following his visit with the Longhorns, according to multiple outlets. Before Watson visited Texas, Ohio State was rumored to be Texas' biggest competition for the stout defender.

We’re two days away from the NFL draft. Personally, I’m a big NFL draft guy because as someone who loves college football as much as I do, I’ve always viewed the draft as graduation day of sorts for the players who have entertained us on Saturdays for the past three to four years (though now it’s also maybe five or six factoring in COVID seasons).

Former Georgia Southern defensive tackle Troy Pikes and former Sam Houston State offensive tackle Orion Irving have scheduled visits to Columbus on Friday, per multiple outlets. While Pikes plays defensive tackle, the Buckeyes’ greatest position of need this transfer portal cycle, it’s not a guarantee he’d be an upgrade over any of Ohio State’s depth options at the position, but at the very least he’d provide competent additional depth.

Ohio State’s newest wide receiver commitment was instantly hooked on the culture Ryan Day and Brian Hartline have established in Columbus. Four-star 2026 Texas wideout Brock Boyd visited campus on March 18 and surveyed the Buckeyes’ spring practice, and came away smitten by the leadership OSU’s wide receivers displayed.

In Wednesday’s Hurry-Up, we went over four possible options for Ohio State to pursue on the defensive line based on who had entered the portal on the first day of the spring window. It’s since been confirmed Larry Johnson has been in contact with one of those aforementioned four, former North Carolina defensive end Beau Atkinson. Per multiple reports, Atkinson is expected to visit Ohio State Monday and will also likely visit Georgia.
