FCA Primary Market Bulletin 54 on leaking inside information during M&AThe FCA published another Primary Market Bulletin (PMB 54) which focuses on strategic leaks during M&A transactions and the fact that a leak may involve the unlawful disclosure of inside information. The FCA says that it has seen an increase in situations where material information on live M&A transactions appears to have been deliberately leaked to the press.

The 5th and final event of the summer series of races took place on the Northgate track on 30th September and had a record 86 runners, including 12 juniors, mostly new members, running in the event for the first time. Also, for the first time, juniors outnumbered the seniors 44 to 42. The organisation was much as normal save for extra volunteers (there were 30 in total) recruited to be able to back up the results service for the anticipated close finishes.

The final races in the highly successful 2024 one-mile handicap series will take place on Monday 30th September on the Northgate track. While these will determine the outcome of the handicap series, they will also be stand-alone races and any member is eligible to enter, even if you haven’t taken part before. Currently, 51 members have completed the minimum 3 races and, on the basis that it is best 3 of the 5 races, can only improve their position.

Gary and Sophie Ingram and I are delighted to be your race directors for this years Jaffa 5 mile handicap race which is taking place on 9th September. The first runner will be leaving at 6.15pm. If you would like to enter please fill in the Google form. Entries are open until Friday 6th September. There will be no entries past this date as the handicap and start times will need to be calculated. It is a lovely flat fast course through Rushmere and is a great event.

The fourth, and last, of the one-mile series on the Claydon course was holiday affected and had a lower number of 48 runners (29 seniors and 19 juniors), including 2 running it for the first time and, again, with ages ranging from 8 to 78. As has been the feature this year, another warm, sunny evening made for perfect running conditions. 1 member was running one mile for the first time and 11 of the remaining 47 secured a pb. 7 recorded their highest ever age grading at any distance.

The third of the one-mile series on the Claydon course had 67 runners (40 seniors and 27 juniors), including 11 running it for the first time this year and with ages ranging from 8 to 78. Another warm, sunny evening made for perfect running conditions. 4 members were running one mile for the first time and 19 of the remaining 63 secured a pb. 16 recorded their highest ever age grading at any distance.

The second of the one-mile series on the Claydon course had 71 runners (37 seniors and 34 juniors), including 18 running it for the first time this year and with ages ranging from 8 to 78. Unfortunately, illness deprived us of matching the record numbers from the first race. A warm, sunny evening made for perfect running conditions. As always, the racing was keen with the superb spectacle of juniors running with their senior counterparts; one of the reasons why this event is important to me.
