In response to public concerns regarding the enforcement of speed limits on selected roads, the Lagos State Government has reaffirmed the legality of the regulations and urged motorists to comply for the safety of all road users. The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, referenced Section 28(2)(a) of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law (2018), which provides the legal basis for imposing penalties on motorists who exceed prescribed speed limits.

Three officials of the Lagos State House of Assembly who were arrested for assaulting officers of the Department of State Services during the recent leadership crisis that rocked the legislative house have apologised to the service. The Assembly, in a letter dated February 14, 2025, and signed by the acting clerk, Babatunde Ottun, had invited the DSS to beef up security at the Assembly.

Groups of students at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, and Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, have unveiled campaigns against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence on their campuses, under the Project Safe Zones initiative. The campaigns followed training sessions supported by nongovernmental organisation, Girl Up, and led by gender rights group, VARSH Foundation.

Chief Afolabi Fashanu (SAN), the counsel for the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, for the umpteenth time on Sunday, dismissed speculations that his principal would be dropping the suit against erstwhile Speaker Mojisola Meranda, and the Assembly members. Fashanu, in a telephone interview with The PUNCH, said his team was awaiting the court judgement on the matter and there was no going back.
