Hong Kong Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui has suggested an electronic ticketing system could work for mega events after two mix-ups from ticket vendor Cityline. Earlier this week, Cityline was ordered by Hong Kong authorities to act quickly around ticket printing errors ahead of Coldplay’s shows at the brand new Kai Tak Stadium.

Cultural sector advocate Kunsten ’92 is encouraging local political parties in the Netherlands to include policies in their election programmes that would benefit the industry. The Dutch organisation has made the call prior to the municipal elections which are set to take place on March 18 next year. “From a broad coalition, we jointly call on local parties to recognise the importance of culture in their election programmes,” read a Kunsten ’92 statement.

Events concierge company Confirmed360 has been acquired by South Korean-founded entertainment giant HYBE. Confirmed360 claims to have provided more than 100,000 experiences in over 40 countries over the past decade. Music Business Worldwide first reported thatHYBE now owns a majority stake in the Santa Monica-based business.

Athletic Ventures is a joint venture comprising UK Athletics (UKA), The Great Run Company (GRC) and London Marathon Events (LME). The Golden State Valkyries recently surpassed the 10,000 season ticket sales mark, becoming the first Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) team to do so.

Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) has called on the Premier League to “act and investigate” Todd Boehly’s involvement in ticket resale website Vivid Seats.
In an open letter to the league’s chief executive Richard Masters, the group states that the Chelsea co-owner’s involvement in Vivid Seats as a director and investor is a “breach of trust” and “a clear conflict of interest”.

Belgian electronic dance music festival Tomorrowland has collaborated with US-based Insomniac to produce Unity, which will debut at Sphere in Las Vegas in August. The audiovisual spectacle will take place across August 29, 30 and 31 and aims to immerse attendees in music and storytelling. The Sphere features the world’s highest-resolution LED display at 16k x 16k, wrapping around the venue.
