    Four skydivers and a pilot were safe Monday after their plane lost power during a flight in Hoke County over the weekend. A group of professional skydivers was headed to a parachute demonstration at the Cape Fear Harley Davidson open house Saturday when engine trouble forced them to make an emergency landing.     A school in Goldsboro is preparing a video pitch for a national competition that could lead President Barack Obama to deliver the school's commencement address in June. Wayne Early Middle College High School filmed the video Wednesday. The school is one of six from around the country that have been named finalists in the Race to the Top competition.     Legislation that would eliminate four standardized end-of-course exams in North Carolina's public schools is moving forward over a judge's argument that ending them would violate the state constitution. The Senate Education Committee voted Wednesday in favor of House Bill 48, which would end standardized tests in U.S. history, algebra 2, physical science and civics and economics next school year because they aren't required by the federal government.
