A Team GB Blind Baseball player says more support is needed for disabled students taking part in sports at university. David, a graduate from Liverpool Hope University who also captained the blind cricket team at the Royal National College for the Blind, believes a cooperative approach between universities would be “fantastic”. A cross-university approach to disability sport would “help with people’s confidence and social skills, not just with keeping fit and active”.

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota will be out for two weeks and will miss Wednesday night’s crucial Merseyside derby, Jurgen Klopp revealed today. UEFA has come under fire after announcing that the clubs who reach the Europa League final in Dublin will receive only half of the 48,000 tickets available. Liverpool play tomorrow night against Atalanta in the quarter final and could eventually progress to the final on May 22. If the Reds do reach the final they will only receive 12,000 tickets for the game that would be Jürgen Klopp’s last outing as Liverpool manager.

Premier League clubs are attending their latest shareholders meeting today (10 April) and the future of squad cost controls is set to be on the agenda. Sky Sports News have reported that significant points deductions are likely to remain as the primary punishment for clubs that break Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) despite proposals to replace points deductions with fines.

Both Liverpool and Everton have or will pay tribute to the victims of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster as the 35th anniversary approaches. On the 15th of April 1989, 97 Liverpool supporters were unlawfully killed in the Hillsborough stadium disaster.

A man has today been charged in relation to alleged ‘tragedy chanting’ during Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United in the FA Cup. Michael Bernard Avery, 44, from Manchester, has been charged with Section 4a of the Public Order Act 1986. He has been bailed, say Greater Manchester Police. It total eight arrests were made on Monday a day after the game at Old Trafford. Mr Avery was charged after an investigation by Greater Manchester Police’s Specialist Operational football investigation team.

Liverpool FC have today announced that Richard Hughes will take over the duties of sporting director in June, but who is Richard Hughes? Hughes started his playing career in Italy with Serie A side Atalanta as a youth player. After a year in Italy he moved to Arsenal and remained a youth player there for five years. Hughes didn’t make a single appearance for Arsenal and in the summer of 1998 moved to AFC Bournemouth where he would go on to become a regular member of the first team.

Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders said today the whole club are behind “always smiling” Luis Diaz amid his difficult ongoing family situation in Colombia. Lijnders refused to describe specifics but said that the club feel they are “doing the right thing”. Diaz’s parents were reportedly kidnapped in his native Colombia over the weekend and while his mother has been rescued his father is still missing.
