    Leinster and Ireland rugby star Garry Ringrose has been named as ambassador to the Audi Centre in Sandyford. The centre picked up the keys to an all-new Audi Q5 SE TFSI e quattro, which he will drive for the rest of the year. The Audi Centre was recently named Audi Dealer of the Year for 2025 in an awards programme that recognises top performances within the Audi dealer network in Ireland.

    Bristow Group, the incoming operator of the Irish Coast Guard's search and rescue service, and Unite the Union have agreed contracts for around 40 incumbent search and rescue helicopter engineers. The agreement will see engineers currently employed by incumbent operator CHC Ireland adopt roster and leave entitlements of Bristow engineers in other countries. US firm Bristow was awarded the search and rescue contract in 2023 and took over the Shannon helicopter base last December.

    ESB has ended coal generation at Moneypoint power station in Co Clare after 40 years and earlier than planned as it shifts to generating oil instead. Moneypoint is one of Ireland’s largest energy generation stations and was developed in the 1980s to mitigate against the then oil crisis.  Moneypoint started transitioning away from fossil fuel generation in 2017 with the construction of a 17MW onshore wind farm.

The Shandon Street shop is owned by Ted Clifford and has been in his family for 95 years across three generations.     Athena, an early-stage start-ups that is developing an AI coaching tool to help job candidates, has been named the winner of the 2025 NovaUCD Student Enterprise Competition. The company received a €3,000 cash prize, sponsored by Terra Solar following the final pitches to the judges at the end of the four-week accelerator programme for UCD student entrepreneurs. Founder Zander Deans-Xiao recently completed a BSc in Economics and Finance at the UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business.
