    The level of contactless payments and ATM transactions continued to diverge in the first quarter, analysis from Bank of Ireland shows.     Aldi Ireland has partnered with Mo Chara Gin to organise a 5k run to mark World Gin Day next Saturday (14 June). Participants will run from Aldi Carrickmacross in Co. Monaghan to the Old Carrick Mill Distillery 5km away, where Mo Chara Gin in distilled. The run is intended to celebrate the new Mo Chara Strawberry Gin as well as the new bottle design across the Mo Chara range.

    Canned soup maker Campbell's has reported net sales of $2.48bn for its third quarter, up 4% year-on-year and ahead of analyst' average expectations of $2.43bn. The company was helped by strong demand for canned food and soups as economic uncertainty caused consumers to increasingly eat at home. Campbell's has maintained its net sales growth forecast of 6-8% for its 2025 financial year, excluding the impact of tariffs.

    Unemployment declined marginally to 4% in May from 4.1% in April and 4.4% in May 2024, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) has found. A total of 118,600 people were classified as unemployed last month, a decline of 200 from April and 6,900 from the same month last year. The unemployment rate was 3.9% for men, down from 4% month-on-month and 4.4% year-on-year. For women, unemployment was measured at 4.1%, down from 4.2% in April and 4.4% in May 2024.
