ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Leaders in Orange County will meet on Tuesday to consider putting money toward an expansion of SunRail. The “Sunshine Corridor” expansion would include stops at Orlando International Airport and International Drive. Osceola County, Seminole County, and the city of Orlando have already pitched in for the plan. The project only needs about half a million dollars to start.

TAVARES, Fla. — A couple who has been accused of torturing a 10-year-old to death in Tavares is expected to face new charges soon. Kimberley Mills and Andre Walker – the boy’s mother and her boyfriend – are facing a slew of charges, including child neglect and tampering with evidence. They have been held at the Lake County jail since their arrest back in February.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An investigation is ongoing after a deadly deputy-involved shooting over the weekend. ▶ WATCH CHANNEL 9 EYEWITNESS NEWSThe shooting happened Saturday night at a home on West Castle Street in the Pine Castle area. The home is not far from Lancaster Elementary School and Walker Middle School. Deputies said they were called to the home for reports of a home invasion in progress.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Investigators said the man who brutally beat an 85-year-old woman in her home portrayed himself as a Community Service Officer to gain access. Orlando Police said the incident happened around 1:45 p.m. on Friday, on Caribbean Court, when 55-year-old Ronald Davis forced his way into the home of an elderly woman. Arrest records state Davis knocked on the door and claimed to be a Community Service Officer and that he needed to check her residence.
