It lacked the sparkle of the Sky News People’s Forum of Tuesday 8 April. Three blokes were on the stage – Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Opposition leader Peter Dutton and ABC presenter David Speers. Speers is a competent but somewhat dour presenter.

ABC chair Kim Williams AM [doesn’t he have an AB as well? – as in Always Begging? – MWD Editor] addressed the Melbourne Press Club on Thursday April 3. The occasion was held to mark the conclusion of your man Williams’ first year as ABC chair. Once again, Mr Williams called for more taxpayer funds to be given to the taxpayer funded broadcaster, which is a Conservative Free Zone (despite the fact that conservatives pay lotsa taxes).

This seems to be in addition to the ABC’s existing staff in the United States. This is how the appointment was confirmed on ABC News Breakfast on 18 March – early in the program.
