So, it was refreshing to hear ABC 7.30 political correspondent Laura Tingle say that she is “EXCEPTIONALLY EXCITED” to be appointed to the position of ABC’s Global Affairs Editor. La Tingle will fill in the position vacated by John Lyons when he was appointed Americas Editor in February 2025.

It lacked the sparkle of the Sky News People’s Forum of Tuesday 8 April. Three blokes were on the stage – Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Opposition leader Peter Dutton and ABC presenter David Speers. Speers is a competent but somewhat dour presenter.
