There are going to be a lot of Lake Normans in this weekend’s NCHSAA boys’ lacrosse state championship games. In the 4A final, Lake Norman will represent the west for the second straight year. The Wildcats won their 20th game of the season Wednesday and beat Hough 15-6 in the western regional championship game to advance. South Mecklenburg High's baseball team ended the regular season on a three-game losing streak, including two losses to conference champion Myers Park. Cannon School had little trouble defending its NCISAA 4A state championship on Saturday. The Cougars cruised past High Point Wesleyan 71-52 to win the third state title in school history. "No matter who we played, we had to have a championship mentality," Cannon coach Kelvin Drakeford said.
