Police in Lyantonde District are holding two nurses employed at Mpummudde Health Centre III over allegations of stealing drugs from the public facility. According to the police, the suspects were involved in breaking into the facility's store between December 30 and 31, 2024 and stealing drugs and medical equipment. The police said the thieves made off with vaccines, antimalarials, and HIV testing kits, among others. The suspects are all females, work in the health centre’s maternity ward.

A fisherman’s wife in Malembo, Kyesiiga Sub County in Masaka District is demanding that the army produce her husband Julius Bukenya alias Nyerere, 30, who was allegedly abducted from their home by men wearing army uniform on September 5 this year. Ms Sulaina Natukunda says her husband was kidnapped in the evening upon his return from a fishing trip.
