Van Meter Inc. and Baker Electric are partnering to host Stuff the Truck, a community donation event supporting the Urbandale Food Pantry tomorrow, Saturday, May 31. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Big Grove Brewery, 555 17th St. in Des Moines. Community members can bring donations of nonperishable food, personal care items or monetary gifts. All donations will be matched up to $3,000, a news release said.

Neighborhood Finance Corp., a nonprofit lender that aims to revitalize neighborhoods and expand homeownership opportunities in Polk County, will celebrate its 35th anniversary on Monday, June 2. A community celebration will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Des Moines’ Columbus Park, at 417 E. Granger Ave. The Columbus Park neighborhood is one of the first neighborhoods where NFC started lending in 1990.
