Her new role takes effect June 9. She will oversee the life insurance company’s global communications strategy, including internal and external communications and media relations. Iowa is shuttering its decades-old system for processing unemployment insurance claims, replacing it with a system that is expected to make it easier for Iowans to file for joblessness benefits and look for jobs. Since the early 1970s, Iowa joblessness benefits have been processed by a state computer mainframe. Participation in reemployment activities such as searching for a job and enrolling in training programs have been located on different websites.

ADR Axles USA Inc., located in Uboldo, Italy, paid Perry Economic Development Inc. $504,450 for over 10 acres of undeveloped land in the Perry Industrial Park along L Avenue south of Highway 141, Dallas County real estate records show. ADR Axles USA, an affiliate of the Italian company ADR S.p.A., plans on building a 54,000-square-foot production facility in Perry. The project is estimated to cost $14.6 million.

Construction is expected to begin next month on a new live-work style building where a Kum & Go store once stood on University Avenue in the Drake neighborhood. Neighborhood Development Corp. purchased the site, at 2211 University Ave., from Kum & Go in October 2022 for $300,000, records from the Polk County assessor’s office show. The convenience store chain announced in early 2022 that it was closing the store, which had been open since 1998.
