LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas valley fighter Kenny “The Boss” Cross is less than a week away from his main event fight at XFC 52 in Iowa City, Iowa as he comes off a bloody victory in his last bout against what he called a very tough opponent. “I knew that the fight was mine, and it gave me a lot of experience that I can take into this next one,” he said. Cross, who moved to Las Vegas not too long ago, said moving has helped his career in many ways.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Led by sophomores Tehani Shigematsu and Manahere Peters, the Pine Crest Sloan Canyon girls flag football team moved on to the next round of the playoffs. Both Shigematsu and Peters were shining on and off the field. Shigematsu, who has won the world title in taekwondo, said she enjoys the competitive aspect of both sports. “It’s hard but it keeps me in shape I just have prioritize my time which I do good at,” she said.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Aces President Nikki Vargas and new Assistant Coach Ty Ellis took part in a Black history panel hosted at the Meadows School. “For the administration to see the importance of having this type of educational programming, I wish that every school was doing this,” Nikki Vargas said. Ellis, who is new to the Las Vegas community, added that it was refreshing to see the kids excited to learn about Black history because it reminded him of his childhood.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The Las Vegas Storm a local youth hockey team is preparing to go to Quebec, Canada to play in one of the most competitive youth tournaments around the world. The under-12 team is coached by John Siemer looks to not only win the tournament but show the rest of the world that Las Vegas is a hockey town. “I’m pretty excited that we get to play and represent Las Vegas,” Maddox Agius, who plays wing for the club said.
