    LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The driver of a pickup truck is accused of hitting and killing a woman who was attempting to cross a northwest valley road Thursday evening. Las Vegas Metropolitan police said the 33-year-old woman was in a crosswalk on N. Rancho Drive near Decatur Boulevard when she was hit by a truck that didn’t stop for a red light. The driver, Angel Franco Merida, 37, didn’t show signs of impairment and remained at the scene but was arrested for reckless driving, according to jail records.

    LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 17-year-old motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a concrete barrier in the far northwest valley, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan police. The crash occurred on Wednesday around 11 p.m. on Moccasin Road east of Durango. Moccasin is the northernmost road in the valley and borders open desert. Evidence found at the crash scene indicates the teen was speeding and crashed into a concrete barrier at the end of Moccasin, police said.
