AS MANY as 30 gas boilers have been stolen from homes in Long Marston. Ten were stolen from the Meon Way Gardens developments last month, and two more last week. It is believed thieves are swiping them from newly-built houses at Langate Fields soon after they’re installed, but before the homes are occupied. The most recent theft was between the evening of 31st March and 9am 1st April.

A MOUNTAIN biker who’s fixed more than 30 bikes for others, says it gives him great ‘personal satisfaction’. Luke Walters, who was born and brought up in Alcester, is always on the look-out for old or broken bikes to bring back to life. The 28-year-old has repaired and rebuilt 30-40 bikes, since taking up the hobby almost three years ago. Bent and rusted frames, mechanisms that have snapped in half, punctures and worn-out parts are all in an evening’s work for Luke.

TWO counsellors have opened a wellbeing hub in Studley to help tackle anxiety and mental health issues in schoolchildren. Joanne Hanson and Lucy Sedgwick launched Hanson & Sedgwick, a dedicated counselling and wellbeing space for the local community, two weeks ago. They offer private therapy for children, adolescents, teens and adults, and training around mental health for local schools and businesses. Former teachers, they met while on the four-year training course to become counsellors.

THOUSANDS of residents across Stratford district may have wrongly paid out millions of pounds in maintenance fees. One example is Wellesbourne, where it’s believed owners and tenants in more than 600 homes across three housing developments should not have been charged hundreds of pounds a year for the cost of maintaining public, open spaces near their homes. Just for those, the fees paid over seven years add up to a massive £870,000.

Published: 09:39, 07 April 2025 A WELLESBOURNE man says he “won’t be fobbed-off” after his mother’s jewellery was stolen from hospital the day she died. Alan Grantham’s 88-year-old mum Winifred was admitted to Warwick Hospital just before Christmas and later died on the ward. Her personal belongings – including a diamond engagement ring, gold wedding band, watch, purse, house keys, bank cards, cheque book and coat – all went missing.
