The reasons are simple and definitive: lower TCO, greater flexibility, and a shift from capex to opex. But if you dig into the details with a cloud-native company (or an enterprise that has moved to the cloud), cracks in that iron-clad value prop begin to appear. Expanding cloud provider margins are eating into TCO.
