(Reuters) - The Stock Exchange of Thailand suspended all trading activities for the afternoon session on Friday after a strong earthquake struck neighbouring Myanmar, the tremors of which were felt in Thailand's capital, Bangkok. "Following the earthquake incident, the Stock Exchange of Thailand hereby announces the immediate suspension of all trading activities," the bourse operator said on its website.

A strong 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck off New Zealand's South Island on Tuesday, authorities said, as the country's disaster agency assessed if there were tsunami threats. Residents of the Southland and Fiordland regions were warned to stay away from beaches and marine areas as strong and unusual currents may present a danger, the national emergency management agency said.

Somaliland has not received any proposal from the US or Israel to resettle Palestinians from Gaza, the foreign minister of Somalia’s breakaway region said on Friday. Associated Press (AP) quoted US and Israeli officials as saying the US and Israel had contacted officials from Sudan, Somalia and Somaliland to discuss using their territory for resettling Palestinians from the devastated Gaza Strip.

A U.S. judge on Tuesday denied billionaire Elon Musk's request for a preliminary injunction to pause OpenAI's transition to a for-profit model but agreed to a fast-track trial in the fall of this year, the latest turn in the high-stakes legal fight.
