Security arrangements for the collation of the 2024 parliamentary election results in Ablekuma North have been put on hold following a Supreme Court injunction. The legal application, which targets the Ministry of the Interior and the National Election Security Taskforce, bars them from providing security support to the Electoral Commission (EC) until the matter is resolved.

By Godwill Arthur-Mensah Accra, March 29, GNA – Ghana’s Parliament has passed the Act establishing the Ghana Goldboard to monitor the buying and selling of gold and accumulate sufficient forex to stabilise the Cedi. Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson while justifying the objectives for establishing the Goldboard on the floor of Parliament, in Accra, said the Goldboard would be able to buy three tonnes of gold per week and bring in foreign exchange worth $250 million per week.

The Minister said as of March 14, 2025, GHS 15.53 was exchanging to a dollar on the forex market, depreciating by 5.3 per cent, as against 5.7 per cent depreciation seen last year.
