1 IntroductionIn a climate change context, Ice Services are facing new challenges for operational monitoring, with unusual dynamics and changes in old regimes of sea ice and icebergs. This scenario reveals the significance of having the most updated information available in operational times, in which any source is valuable, either provided by satellite imagery or, less frequently, from in situ observations.
