Pro-trans protest (Image: Gordon Terris, Newsquest) A PRO-TRANS demonstration has taken place in Glasgow city centre. A large crowd gathered outside the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) offices on West George Street in Glasgow on Friday, May 2. Protestors were pictured holding signs with statements such as "trans people belong here", "trans lesbians and lesbians", and "this is not what the EHRC was made for".

(Image: Gordon Terris, Newsquest) PREPARATIONS are underway ahead of the demolition of three tower blocks in North Glasgow. Three structures at 151, 171 and 191 Wyndford Road, owned by Wheatley Homes Glasgow, will be brought down on Sunday, March 23 to make way for more than 300 new homes. Our photographer Gordon Terris headed out to Wyndford today (March 22) as final preparations take place.

St Patrick's Day parade held in Glasgow after band's historic win at competition (Image: Gordon Terris, Newsquest) A St Patrick's Day Parade has taken place in Glasgow after a marching band made history as the first overseas winners of a renowned competition. St Roch's Marching Band won the All-Ireland title at the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Wexford last year. They are the first band from outside of Ireland to win the title.

According to the Met Office, the city will experience a high of one degree today, though it will feel like minus one. The cold weather is expected to continue on Wednesday on Thursday before rising to six degrees on Friday.
