The Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation is happy to receive a 2023 Traveler’s Choice award from Tripadvisor, the travel service and advice website. The award goes to sites rated in the top 10 percent of world travel destinations by Tripadvisor members. The award is the latest recognition of the historical value and quality presentation of the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center, which opened in August 2011.

The City of Cody has begun their annual chip seal project on select roadways across the city. This is a preventative measure taken to help maintain roadways to prevent water damage, improve pavement lifespan, and improve a smoother driving experience for all travelers. Water is a persistent threat to Cody’s roadway infrastructure, especially as the Big Horn Basin has experienced more moisture than years prior. Water will seep into the pavement during the rainy and snowy months.

The Washakie County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing Worland woman who was last known to be in the area of Nowater Trail, past the Worland Airport. Breanna Mitchell, age 28, is 5’5″, 130lbs, has green eyes and brown hair. She was reported missing Monday, July 24 at 9:16 a.m., but was last contacted on July 22nd after her vehicle had gotten stuck along the rugged terrain. Her last know GPS coordinates from her vehicle’s location are: N43.88408 W107.84982.

U.S. Senators Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) and Jacky Rosen (D-NV) lead the way on a bipartisan bill called “Strengthening Telehealth and Education for Rural Communities Act”. The bill focuses on increasing rural access to telehealth and educational services by reauthorizing the Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant Program, which provides funding to rural and tribal communities in the Cowboy State to facilitate such projects.
