Traffic is backed up on northbound Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo after a car crashed over the side of the roadway. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says the crash happened just south of the Higuera Street off-ramp around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday. According to CHP, the white SUV traveled about 15 feet off the roadway into an orchard. Caltrans reports that traffic is slowed on northbound Highway 101 from Spyglass Drive to Higuera Street. A tow truck was sent to the scene around 2:20 p.m.

Three people were injured Sunday afternoon after a crash that sent a vehicle over the side of Highway 101 in North Santa Barbara County. In a post on X, Santa Barbara County (SBC) Fire Public Information Officer Scott Safechuck reported that the two-vehicle crash happened just north of the Nojoqui Summit around noon. Safechuck says one of the vehicles traveled 10-20 feet over the side of the highway.

Authorities are responding to a crash involving a mountain lion on State Route 46 near Templeton Sunday morning. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the crash on eastbound SR-46 near York Mountain Road just before 11:30 a.m.Officials say a white pick-up truck was involved in the collision, and no one was hurt. Initially, CHP reported that the mountain lion was deceased and lying in the westbound lane. However, at 11:31 a.m., officials said the animal was still breathing.

CAL FIRE San Luis Obispo (SLO) crews responded to a vegetation fire near Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo on Saturday afternoon. The blaze reportedly broke out next to Chorro Valley Road around 3:30 p.m.Officials say CAL FIRE SLO and the California Men's Colony Fire Department responded to the incident and were able to contain the fire about thirty minutes later. According to CAL FIRE SLO, the fire burned a 20-by-50-foot spot of mowed grass.
