    While Japan is not typically known for its stop-motion animation, director Takeshi Yashiro is taking charge of the scene. His film, “Norman the Snowman: On a Night of Shooting Stars” (2021) marks one of the latest of an exclusively stop-motion filmography, including the original  “Norman the Snowman” (2014), “Moon of a Sleepness Night” (2017), and “Gon, the Little Fox” (2019).

    Sarah Cheok and Olivia Griselda reunite at Cartoons Underground this year with their latest short, “She and Her Good Vibrations.” The film represents a homecoming of sorts for the duo. We at Asian Movie Pulse encountered them at the 2021 edition, where they said they met through a two-day industry workshop hosted by *SCAPE alongside their project producer (and current festival director), Jerrold Chong.
