⛅ High 17CGood morning!You needn’t have worried. I did not run out of books on my train trip to Toronto. And even if I had, apparently VIA Rail keeps a few stacks of old forgotten novels in various places on the train so I would have been covered regardless. It was lovely to have some time away from my desk and responsibilities, and I am now geared up to get back into reporting. With the federal election less than two weeks away, both Tyler and I are going to have a lot on our plates.

⛅ High 17CGood morning!Well folks, it’s time for me to say goodbye. Not for long though! Just for the week. I am off on a long-awaited honeymoon that will see me and my husband traverse (most of) the country by train. I have packed six books, two magazines, and one puzzle book, which I hope will be enough to keep me busy until we get to Toronto.

⛅ High 13CGood morning!I have been reading The Hobbit to my daughter. She is perhaps still a little young for it—Tolkien is notoriously wordy, with meandering sentences and a multi-syllabic vocabulary—but so far she is absolutely loving the story. For that I am very grateful. Tolkien is one of the foundational authors of my life, and I would be a little disappointed if I couldn’t share his work with my kids.
