(FOX Carolina) - When Nathan Cureton kidnapped his girlfriend from a busy gas station on May 24, the 38-year-old was on probation for two violent convictions and out on bond for another domestic violence charge. Had Cureton stopped there, his probation would have been revoked, according to a spokesperson for South Carolina’s Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services (SCDPPPS). But they didn’t have the chance to do that.

    GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Court documents show the man who investigators say was responsible for the murder-suicide that shutdown I-85 on Saturday was on probation at the time of the incident. Anderson County deputies say Nathan Cureton kidnapped Tayler Maraj from a gas station in Mauldin on Saturday. Cureton then drove away, trapping Maraj in the car. Eventually, investigators Cureton shot Maraj and then turned the gun on himself.

(FOX Carolina) - A woman is suing an Upstate sheriff’s office, claiming her son died after being left alone in the WRAP, a full-body restraint used by law enforcement, for nearly seven hours. FOX Carolina Investigates uncovered gaps in critical policies for using physical restraint devices across Upstate agencies. Johnny Bollinger, 43, was arrested on Dec. 16, 2022, after the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of indecent exposure on Wilderness Trail in Blacksburg.
