Grammy Award winner Suzy Bogguss told her UCA Public Appearance crowd Sunday night at Windgate Center For Fine and Performing Arts that she realized this was “a school night” and this was her best Sunday night crowd. In addition to delivering a well diversified playlist for her fans, she kept everyone laughing. Bogguss shared that when she was 12 she got to eat TV Dinners with country greats Roy Rogers and Dale Evans when she visited her grandparents in California.

On the afternoon of Nov. 23, 2019, Searcy police responded to a shooting "directly behind" the then-Kroger grocery store and found a 41-year-old "on the edge of the roadway" who had been shot several times. Thomas Bernard Hunt was still conscious when officers arrived and NorthStar EMS emergency medical technicians attempt to render aid but died in surgery after being taken to the Unity Health-White County Medical Center Emergency Room.

Searcy’s dog ordinance is “actively” being rewritten by a committee, according to Chuck Niementowski, treasurer for the Humane Society of Searcy. Niementowski told the Searcy City Council that the committee includes him, Main Street Searcy Executive Director Amy Burton and retired veterinarian Dr. Michael Liles, who is a Searcy School Board member.

Danny Morrow is used to dealing with flooding. Morrow, who said he has lived in Georgetown all of his 60 years, "rode in the back of Bob trucks and Army trucks to get to school" when he was a kid because of high water. "If they did that nowadays, they would have a heart attack,” Morrow said Wednesday afternoon as he overlooked water surrounding the east White County town that borders the White River.
