The President of Pasadena, California’s Tournament of Roses will throw out the first pitch at American Family Field tonight. Tomorrow night, Mark Leavens will be on the football field at Greendale High School. There he will officially invite the band to march in the 2026 Rose Parade. “In part to thank the band,” Leavens said of his visit. He told Wisconsin’s Morning News it’s a tradition for communities to receive a visit from the Tournament President.

Father’s Day is a good time to reflect on bullies. Bullying in our country has been legitimized by the highest elected officials and widely imitated by their followers, who feel unbound by the societal rules that have evolved over centuries to help us all get along. It takes some fortitude to stand up to bullies because most bullies need to dominate, don’t care about the feelings of others, and are generally angry people who believe the world owes them something.

The defending WIAA State Champion in girls golf will compete against the world’s best in her backyard as SentryWorld Golf Course hosts the Rolex Girls Junior Championship. The tournament in Stevens Point welcomes the top female golfers ages 12-19 for three rounds of competition June 17-19. Among the field will be 16 year old McKenna Nelson of Beaver Dam. She won the State Tournament last fall, shooting a blistering 65 on day one at University Ridge in Madison.
