    The wreck of the schooner St. Peter in Lake Michigan off the shore of Ozaukee County near Port Washington was added to the National Register of Historic Places on Dec. 19, 2024, the Wisconsin Historical Society has announced. The Chicago-based schooner – built by master builder Peter Perry in New Baltimore, Michigan in 1868 – ran grain, lumber and other bulk cargo until it wrecked on May 6, 1874.

    The owners of the Franksville Craft Beer Garden have signed a letter of intent to open a taproom at the Belle City Square development in the old Horlick Malted Milk plant in Racine. The plan is for Hop Heads Hospitality & Events – owned by Ken and Molly Michel – to open a nearly 18,000-square-foot taproom, beer garden and 300-person events venue in the complex's 1911 Factory 3 building.

Biden announced $7.3 billion for 16 cooperatives in the country that provide electric and clean energy alternatives in rural areas and small towns. The first co-op to be chosen was Dairyland Power Cooperative in La Crosse. The cooperative in Westby is a member coop of Dairyland.
