Copyright ©2025 Dow Jones & Company, Inc. A Massachusetts federal judge had ordered the government the day of her arrest to not move her outside the state without providing two days’ notice. Prosecutors said Thursday that they had already transferred her outside of Massachusetts when the judge issued the order. Ozturk is the latest international student to be detained and moved to Louisiana. Federal authorities sent Mahmoud Khalil, a green-card holder, from New York to Louisiana after he was arrested earlier this month.
