The event allowed those who usually struggle with a language barrier to have access to critical health resources. They offered free vaccines, HIV testing, and accesses to overdose kits. Angela Trillo helps put it all together and said in many cases some people don’t get screened because of that language gap.

    WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (WMC) - In West Memphis on Saturday, it was a chance for thousands who call the Arkansas delta home to celebrate their freedom. After being cancelled last weekend, the celebration went off without a hitch. The event was full of musical performances, comedy acts, and informative giveaways. Everyone who had a hand in putting it together said it’s important the delta had a proper celebration.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The U.S. Marshals Service has made more arrests in the April murders of two Booker T. Washington High School students. Marshals reported that Demanuel Jackson and Mario Simmons were captured in Middle Tennessee on Wednesday. Janeice Brown’s brother Christian was one of the two that were killed. Christian and his friend Darrius Wadley were gunned down just steps from their high school. Brown said since that day it feels like a part of her is missing.

(WMC) - Kids around the Delta got the chance to learn from one of the best in the business, Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl-winning Linebacker Nakobe Dean. “I never really had nothing in this area that I knew about, like a camp or anything, so it is definitely a blessing to be able to do this,” Dean said. The free camp brought kids from around the area to Tunica, Dean’s mother’s hometown. He said he wanted to do it there because he knows people in the area don’t have as much.
