ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - This weekend, a 40-year tradition came to an end. The final Krusin Klassics Car Show and Swap Meet was held at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba. This event has brought joy to many over the years, and the Krusin Klassics have given a lot back to Delta County. Hundreds of vintage and modern cars filled the lawns at the fairgrounds on Saturday. Bob Lewis, a racer at the Escanaba Motor Speedway, brought his stock car.

GLADSTONE, Mich. (WLUC) - Friday morning, kids got to ride their bikes to school with police officers for the last day of school. Elementary school students gathered at Kids Kingdom in Gladstone around 7:30 am. A police escort led the children about a half mile down the road to James T. Jones Elementary School. 10-year-old 3rd grader Kelsey Sanville said she had a lot of fun. “I like that all my friends were there, and I got to ride bikes with them,” said Sanville.

MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WLUC) - The City of Manistique had a need for housing. A vacant, 123-year-old building at the corner of Cedar Street and Walnut Street was taking up space. Kristina Behrens and Antonio Adan, co-owners of Cedar Street Real Estate, have ties to the area and wanted to create a new living space. “We really set out wanting to be able to contribute to that vibrant downtown to be able to work and live and play here in the community,” said Behrens.

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - The Forsyth Township Fire Department received a livestock rescue trailer from MSU Extension Thursday. The equipment in the trailer will prepare first responders for livestock crashes. This Emergency Response for Accidents Involving Livestock (ERAIL) trailer has more than 80 pieces of emergency livestock equipment. Its purpose is to keep animals safe during a crash on the road.

Summer camp for seniors is a little different. “I’m the youngest one in my building, so everybody runs to me,” said camp attendee Barbara St. John. “I need to learn more.”Camp 911 for Seniors is sponsored by TRIAD, a collaborative effort between local law enforcement and senior citizens.
