The seventh annual Marquette County Community Resource Fair was held at Lakeview Arena. It’s hosted by Upper Peninsula Health Care Solutions (UPHCS) and Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP). More than 70 organizations offered services for free to the community. Katrina Keough, UPHCS Assistant Director, says people come here not knowing they need a resource.

    MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Mariucci Family Beacon House fundraised in a big way Thursday. Thursday evening was the fourth annual Grill & Chill Fundraiser. Tickets were sold out for a “Night in Nashville.”The crowd enjoyed a grill master competition, a bourbon tasting and could spend some time with Steve Mariucci. Music was provided by songwriter Tim Nichols and artists Deric Ruttan and Patrick Murphy. Money raised goes to support cancer and NICU patients and their families.

    MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Stop throwing your medical needles in the trash. Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority is seeing more needles coming through its facility. Some of its employees have had to go to the hospital after being scratched by needles. It has to shut down operations anytime a needle comes through its recycle floor. Josh Wales, Marquette County Solid Waste Materials Management Supervisor, says there is a safe way to dispose of your needles.

    GLADSTONE, Mich. (WLUC) - The newest business in Gladstone, Sip 906 Nutrition, has only been open for a couple of months. Since opening, the drink shop has grown a dedicated fan base. Owner Sage Clark says that since opening the shop, it has already gained many regular customers.
