WASHINGTON (7News) — A man was shot in Northwest, D.C., early Saturday morning and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) quickly arrested a 30-year-old suspected of shooting the man, officials said. Police went to the intersection of 10th and U Streets, NW, around 4:30 a.m. for reported gunshots and found the victim who'd been shot. First responders transported him to a local hospital, according to police.

Stations will open at 6 a.m. Saturday morning and Sunday morning. FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) arrested a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a child at a bus stop in Annandale Tuesday morning, police said. The child safely made it to school after getting away. 45-year-old Hugo Perez Soliz, of Annadale, was charged with attempted abduction and is being held without bond, according to officials.

WASHINGTON (7News) — A large tree fell onto the road on Saturday near 13th Street and South Carolina Avenue, SE, blocking the road. The tree damaged part of a fence but fortunately, it fell away from a nearby building. Arborists said the recent days of rain left the ground saturated, leading to situations like this across the DMV due to the softened soil.
