This study investigated the association of objectively measured CRF, physical activity and sedentary time with adipose tissue insulin resistance and depot-specific measurements of adiposity in a cohort of adults without established metabolic disease. The novel findings are three-fold. Firstly, habitual sedentary time was positively associated with Adipo-IR and this relationship was stronger in those who were older, had a larger BMI and lower levels of CRF.
