GROVE, OKLA (KTUL) — A Grove woman was sentenced to 15 years in prison for strangling her 70-year-old neighbor. According to court documents, 57-year-old Kellie Lee Crawford fatally strangled 70-year-old Richard Strade in September of 2021. Crawford was under the influence of methamphetamine and believed Strade was attempting to sexually assault her. Dove Schools was awarded a $9.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Expanding Opportunity Through Quality Charter Schools Program. The tuition-free public charter school system will use the funds to support increased enrollment, technology upgrades, staff training, and operational infrastructure across all nine Dove Schools. According to Dove Schools, the grant is highly competitive and was only awarded to eight charter programs across the country.
